Anton Treuer will lead this session at the Minnesota Association of Independent Schools Conference at Mounds Park Academy

Session Description: There has been a sweeping change to Minnesota's educational standards. Teachers and their coaches and leaders are working hard to understand and deliver on the new guidance, but some of it falls outside of their normal range of expertise. Science teachers are now asked to speak to Indigenous knowledge systems and ways of knowing. Social studies teachers are asked to teach what a Native nation is and how it works. This session is designed to explore the new guidance and most importantly connect participants to resources to render their efforts more effective.
