Equity and the Indians

  • U of M College of Education and Human Development 1644 Larpenteur Avenue West Saint Paul, MN, 55108 United States (map)

Native American cultures contain a unique toolbox to help educators and equity workers decenter and combat oppression, cultural disassociation, other drivers for the “achievement gap.” Come learn more from and about the first people of the land. In addition to a thought-provoking challenge to our prevailing assumptions about education and equity work, this session is also designed to provide a meaningful opportunity for participants to expand their cultural awareness and competence in dealing with a unique population of often-marginalized students with greater efficacy.
