Healing from Historical Trauma: Language, Culture, and Connection (In-person)

30th Annual Anishinaabemowin Teg Language Conference

Title: Healing from Historical Trauma: Language, Culture, and Connection

Description: Native people have endured generations of trauma, from genocidal policies to residential boarding schools, and systemic poverty. Rather than rehashing injustices of the past, Anton Treuer will explore new research on how intergenerational and historical trauma manifest in our communities and even more importantly, how our efforts at language and culture revitalization can help us heal, grow, reconnect, and break the cycles of despair and disadvantage that have plagued us for so long.
