Cultural Competence & the Opportunity Gap

  • Columbia Heights Public Schools 1440 49th Avenue Northeast Columbia Heights, MN, 55421 United States (map)

Native American cultures contain a unique toolbox to help educators and equity workers decenter and combat oppression, cultural disassociation, other drivers for the “achievement gap.” Come learn more from and about the first people of the land. In addition to a thought-provoking challenge to our prevailing assumptions about education and equity work, thi session is also designed to provide a meaningful opportunity for participants to expand their cultural awareness and competence in dealing with a unique population of often-marginalized students with greater efficacy.

This a closed training for k-12 educators. For registration information, contact Jane Riordan <RiordanJ@colheights.k12.mn.us>.
