In this uplifting professional development session, Dr. Anton Treuer invites Irondale High School paraprofessionals to discover how Indigenous ways of knowing can expand and enrich learning across core academic areas. Through stories, examples, and practical insights, Treuer explores how Indigenous knowledge systems offer meaningful perspectives on science, mathematics, language, history, relationships, and the natural world. Participants will consider how these perspectives can help students see connections across disciplines, recognize multiple ways of understanding, and engage more deeply with learning. The session empowers paraprofessionals to support classrooms where curiosity, cultural knowledge, student strengths, and diverse perspectives are valued.
