This full-day facilitated training explores how historical and contemporary trauma, culture, communication, and belonging shape individual and community well-being. Grounded in Indigenous perspectives and practical application, participants will examine the continuing effects of historical trauma and intergenerational experiences while also considering the protective roles of culture, identity, relationships, and community connection.
Through presentation, facilitated discussion, reflection, and interactive exercises, participants will develop practical tools for navigating difficult conversations, strengthening trust, and fostering environments in which people feel seen, connected, and supported. The training emphasizes strengths-based and culturally grounded approaches applicable across public health, behavioral health, social services, education, and community-based work.
