Join acclaimed Ojibwe author, historian, and educator Dr. Anton Treuer for an engaging evening of reading, storytelling, reflection, and conversation at the Cumberland Public Library. Drawing from his books and decades of work with Indigenous communities, Treuer will share stories and insights that offer a deeper understanding of Ojibwe culture, history, family, and the enduring importance of language.

Through selected readings from his book, Where Wolves Don’t Die, as well as family stories, and reflections on working with young people, Treuer will explore how meaningful relationships, cultural knowledge, and curiosity can help children develop a stronger sense of identity and connection. He will also discuss the importance of Ojibwe language revitalization and the role that language plays in carrying knowledge, worldview, and cultural identity across generations.

Designed for community members of all ages and backgrounds, this evening will be both educational and personal—an opportunity to listen, learn, laugh, reflect, and connect. The program will conclude with a book signing, offering attendees an opportunity to meet Dr. Treuer and have their books signed.
