Language and culture are at the heart of strong Native nations. In this session, Dr. Anton Treuer explores how Ojibwe language, cultural knowledge, and traditional values can strengthen individuals, workplaces, families, and communities. Drawing on decades of work in language revitalization and community engagement, Anton will examine both the lasting impacts of colonization and the remarkable resilience of Native people. Participants will explore practical ways that tribal employees and institutions can support language and cultural revitalization and help create environments where Ojibwe identity, knowledge, and community can thrive.
